The Old Major in Animal Farm may represent Karl Marx, but some think that he may also represent the likes of Lenin.  Looking deeper into the two ideas however, Lenin seems to have one of the stronger character traits possessed by the Old Major. This is shown by his bringing the ideas of Animalism, i.e. Communism to the farm, where as Marx thought up the ideas, rather than incorporating them somewhere.
